Diary of a Student-Teacher #Week2Day9

Today was just a normal day except that one of the teachers in my former class thought I was carrying a gloomy face and called to ask what the problem was. I think it’s just because she thought what happened the previous day might have affected my mood even till the following day. Actually, there wasn’t a problem at all. I had long accepted the fact that I had to be where I didn’t prefer.

I didn’t handle a new topic today. Rather, I helped the kids do their classwork and then took them through reciting two and three-letter words.

OMG! It’s so hard to grab the attention of 3-year-olds for a longer time. They get distracted at any little interference. I had to leverage all methods possible to help them concentrate.

Somehow, today’s break took so long to arrive. I got easily tired and I needed some rest.

Break time finally came and as usual, I assisted the teachers in arranging the kids to have their meal, then cleaned them up, swept, and mobbed the class before I even thought of my own meal.

Thank God we are almost rounding off the week because I am so tired already. Imagine performing a full chore within a couple of hours. Trust me when I said I wasn’t ready for this.

On the other hand, I try not to allow my perception of my new role to affect my teaching and the way I interact with the kids. I will continue trying my best and carry out my responsibilities to the best of my ability.

I hope your day went well?
